ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF AN ASSET INVENTORY INFORMATION SYSTEM AT THE PUBLIC WORKS AND PUBLIC HOUSING SERVICE OF JAMBI PROVINCE

Abstract

The Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning in Jambi City, located on Haji Zainir Haviz Street in Kota Baru, Jambi, is one of the Local Government Agencies (OPD) tasked with assisting the Mayor in governing public works and spatial planning. Its primary responsibilities include managing the planning and development of infrastructure, particularly in inventorying infrastructure assets. Inventorying is the process of collecting, recording, and reporting on all assets.The current manual inventorying process poses challenges for stakeholders in managing and accessing information regarding infrastructure asset inventory. There's a lack of completeness and organization in the data pertaining to infrastructure asset inventory. The research conducted proposes a solution to this issue – the development of a web-based prototype information system for asset inventory management within the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning in Jambi City.
